Additioth nosed his warm royal blue muzzle into Larna's hand, sniffing and trying to nibble.

"That's not for you!" Larna laughed, "you don't even eat greens!"

I like greens, but not this kind, Additioth bespoke, causing Larna to blush and laugh out loud.

"Well I'm going to be taking these to the docks, so get yourself ready for a flight."

I am always ready! Oh. Wait, you mean to the docks, not ... never mind! If the dragon could have blushed, he would have.

Larna giggled, packing away the carrots, lettuce and cabbages into a travel container. Additioth brought his harness himself, he was quite clever that way. Not so much in others, though he was so pleasant to hear babbling in the back of her mind. He would give instruction on whether his harness was pinching, just exactly where, and when it felt perfect. That was an experience, she thought he'd never grow up fully - every other day while he was younger was 'shift it there', 'it's too tight again', 'that sits higher than last time'. But now that he was fully grown, he was a joy to be with. It'd become second nature to her to listen for his little comments.

His comments this time around told her there was a proddy green nearby. If it worked out like last time he'd flown, she would share a klah and sticky bun with the green's rider. Or perhaps, it was one of the guys, and that might be even more of an interesting day. But for the time being, she packed up and put the harness over his shoulders, snugging it just right and giving the blue an image of himself in it. He loved that, oh how he needed to know whether he looked okay or did the right thing.

But praise was something that Larna had in spades. Particularly for him, she was so devoted to his well being that sometimes she forgot to care for herself. Of course, those were the times when Additioth would remind her to take care. Today was not one of those days. Today, there was a bounty of good crops from her ledge garden, and since the Weyr already had enough to go around, she would bring these goods to those in need below in the harbor Hold.

The flight down from her weyr was uneventful, surprisingly warm considering how late in autumn it was. The weather reminded her of her old home, the Nidus, her old world, and how much had changed in her life.

No longer did she need to wonder whether her family cared about her: she had a new one here in Dragonhope. No longer did she find herself crying about her past: she had a future. Worlds were intertwined, times mixed, she knew that Dragonhope had many interesting folks who didn't come "from here", and she had to correct herself whenever she found the words Nidus instead of Weyr on her lips. But those things were all in the past and background to her now. She'd been here for four years, turns they called them on Pern, and enjoyed the new things she could see and do.

Life on the whole, however, remained the same most places, even other distant worlds. There were mouths to feed, children to educate, dragons to bond. Impress, she laughed to herself as they landed on the dragon flats near the hold. Because she didn't have much to go around, and knew that these items would be premium goods, she asked Additioth to sniff around mentally and locate those who might need them the most.

Oddly it wasn't a fisher family, but a candlemaker and his kin, who had fallen on bad times recently. Well, that was partially to be expected, during summer the sun hardly set at all up here in the far north, but now that his services were in need once more, he found they hardly had enough money to buy their goods and still provide food! So, food was now off the list of things he needed to worry about!

It made Larna and Additioth feel quite good when the children and an apprentice who was living with them accepted the goods. They would make the cabbages go as far as possible - there was always fish soup, but cabbage and carrots were hard to find!

The rider and dragon returned to the Weyr up above, the high, brightly iced peak always shimmering in a lavender color against the alien skies. It wasn't where she'd grown up, and it wasn't where Additioth and she had bonded, but it was home.

She is extremely polite, but not arrogantly so, a very genuine person who cares about those around her. She would never want anyone to be in her shoes again, and knows that some Searches will always produce such a result. She is private in ways: she has a green thumb and enjoys sharing things from her garden be it fruit or flower - but any other items such as gifts or clothing, things given to her, she treasures and hardly dares show off lest someone want to take it from her.
