Bonded at Wo Yao Fei

Bhuto was able to fit in at Wo Yao Fei, if anything he felt rather comfortable there. People immediately started depending on him to get information from one side of the castle to the other, or to give a heads-up when something was going on.

And he always seemed to know, too, that there was something up. Maybe he was just tuned in to listening to gossip, or maybe he just had a feeling.

But he did have a feeling that the draks were hatching. It was an excrutiating wait, though, more than a day, before he heard that the mother of the clutch was going to introduce her offspring to the world. Why had it taken so long? Why was there never anyone attending the actual hatching?

And why would he ever have even thought that? No one attended hatchings but the mother - sometimes the sire, of a clutch. Nests were very private, he knew. And who exactly would interrupt a drak mother on her nest?

Well, perhaps if anyone would, it might be the girl, Cathryne, who was the knight bonded to the dam of this particular nest. Rain Regen was a tiny bit addled, Bhuto knew them to be a little flighty. But it was the sire of the nest, Gerbris, and his weird rider who constantly wore sunglasses, that made Bhuto wonder about the status of the nest...

He didn't have to worry long, this morning. It was sunrise, and something in the air made Bhuto confident that today the draks would come out and see everyone.

**"I want my tea." Marieke mumbled when she clutched her jacked closer around her body.
"When you're always on the road, you get used of the cold." Bhuto said to make Marieke feel better.
"I kinda need the caffeïne. But thanks." Marieke smiled at her fellow aspirant when she heard all hell break louse. "Sorry.. I need to stop this disaster."
Bhuto nodded and turned around to watch the opening for the Deep Caverns.
"What is it now?"
"He tried to do my hair." Sarah said angerly.
"Why would you want to do that Xander? It is hopeless."
Sarah glared at Marieke and was about to say something when Bhuto called out that the rain drak Regen was coming. Marieke smiled at her room mate and stepped out of the way of the flying shoe.**

Bhuto watched the draks, not the girls, as they scuttled toward the hallway. The drak female was intent on the shoe which had been thrown - probably in anger - from the room nearby. But she shook off her curiosity, and started announcing the hatchlings!

The first of the draklings to be shown was a Night, next an Earth, then a cute Plant.  But shortly thereafter, two more were brought to the front of the hall.

**"Look, we have the same colour!" The female ore said to Marieke.
"I can walk on my front paws! See!" The male ore said and demonstrated his act. Unfortunately, he fell down.
"Did you hurt yourself?" Bhuto ran towards the drak.
"I think I broke something.."
"My plant!" Raf screamed waving his hands fast.
"Sorry.... I guess." Bhuto said thinking that he was just overreacting a little.
"Bisen.. I told you not to do that. Right from the egg he has done stunts like thissss. I hope you will take good care of him."
"Of course Regen." Bhuto said bowing to the drak.**

Bhuto watched as the girl and her own ore went to the food area, but didn't miss the last of the hatchlings, a beautiful little Day, as he paired off too.

The days went by, turning into a season. They were trained by Hubero and Rust Weerloos, in flight and portal travel, but also they got lessons in singing. Performance was something that the High Prince understood well, and Bhuto really enjoyed hearing him sing!

Bisen on the other hand couldn't carry a tune in a bucket... But that was fine. The drak continued to 'perform' tricks, like standing on his forelegs - which he got steadily better at! He began flexing his wings to balance, gently throwing his furry tail around to steady himself.

"That's pretty good," Bhuto said, "but can you do it with me running from your tail to your shoulders?"

"Try it!" Called the drak, and they began working up their very first 'show'!
