When the call went out from Winya Yesteae for dragons of ... dubious origins to have a flight, it was natural that a bunch of Healing Den residents gathered to argue about who would be going.

Baeris showed up with her young son Kaeleb in hand, wondering what all the to-do was about. "I sense something important on the air," she muttered. "Spill it."

"We will fly," said a Hathian blue-green male. He tossed his head proudly and announced, "I heard about it first! I will be leading the group!"

Can it, Jiman! Called a female of almost the same coloration. We all heard the announcement together.

"I heard nothing," Baeris said.

Are you an orphaned dragon? Asked Diurnath.

"Wellll... no." The human woman took her fussing offspring back to her office with the instruction that the dragons tell her who was really going, and when they got back, who they'd found to occupy them while they were gone.

"Okay, so here's what we are going to do," Jiman said, sliding around so that he could be in the middle of things again. "There is a limit, right now, so only four of us can go. I'm going, because I heard it first."

There were protests again, that no, everyone had heard at once but it was true that he'd brought it up first, and he was so peevishly insistant about it that they would just be happier if he'd go just to shut him up.

I will go - and so will Nocturneth. Bespoke Diurnath, We ... We will have our first flight there. It seems only natural. Added her partner.

I want to go! Please! I want to see these other places and you promised me! You'd take me to see them! Umith butted her teal-colored head in to the group. There weren't many others, truly, that hadn't already either been in a flight before, or wanted to admit that they had no idea who their parentage could be. Some were too proud to say, some were just blissfully ignorant.

"Well, then, we've got our four! Two males and two females!"

Stay away from Umith, warned Nocturneth. His tone flattened even Jiman's excitement.

"Okay, okay..."

Jiman, born of TrisHath.

His unusual features don't stop at coloration - blue and green together, his personality is a mix of both traditional Hathian genders. His force of will is extremely strong, like a green's, while his wit and superiority seem to stem from his blue side. The only thing common about him is his horn color of gold. He has not chosen to bond at the Healing Den, rather he is involved with locating flights (such as this one!) for the local dragons to attend.

Nocturneth, of Calyeni Caverns

This brown-sized midnight-starred blue male is a stunning example of proud parenthood - even though he and his partner Diurnath have never had their own flight. He is a stable, calm dragon with a canny insight into how to get others to do what they should be doing, even when they do not want to. He and Diurnath attend the sands and keep eggs healthy and safe while their parents are away.

Diurnath, from Cy Dragonstake

This stunning sunrise-colored female could be gold if only she were a notch bigger. However she's happy the way she is, and proud of her beautiful coloration. She and Nocturneth tend the eggs, but she also has a job with the flight trainers, assisting young dragonets and weyrlings. She is a steady, if demanding, female. Her only chosen partner is Nocturneth.

Umith, of EnzanShi

This ocean-teal female was a gift from the new leaders of EnzanShi, and was tended as their own offspring by Nocturneth and Diurnath. She loves them as parents - and unlike many dragons, she will always feel that parental attachment. She is a strong-willed girl, but not ... really... too bright. She would like to find a nice male, but has no intention of settling down with one, like her 'parents' have.
