Egyptan Refuge RULES

Here are the rules for applying for a page at the Egyptan Refuge!

1 - You must *not* currently have a web site. Younger kids, people who do not have adequate web access, people using "expage" or other such not-quite-web sites, or those who are completely unable to use any javascripted online-type programs (geocities page builder, angelfire or tripod's builders, etc) are able to apply. Please - if you already own a geocities or other such free site page, do not apply.

1A - This page is ONLY for Egyptan cyberpets - NOT for your own home pages!

2 - You must have an idea for a page. You do not have to actually upload or transfer anything to this site - but you must have some kind of idea about your page.

The pages will automatically include a link back to my main site, and a coccoon image - just like every other page must have when I look them over.

When I get your email, I will make sure that we have a good idea about what will go on the page. We can talk about what else to send AFTER the first email! If you send something before we talk, I will NOT put it up automatically! NEVER assume that what is being sent is going to be approved! Since *I* am putting these pages up, I have complete control over the content - I will spell check, grammar and style check, and I may change formats of images if they become too large.

AFTER approval:

Once I have approved your request for a page to be hosted on the Refuge site, please remember to ALWAYS include your email and id in your correspondance! I cannot remember everyone's name automatically. IF you have a page on the Refuge, ALWAYS include it's url or information too!

Once we have the page established, we'll want to put up some information on the page. There will be a coccoon and link already there, but you are responsible for the rest of the work. I will put it up, but you must think hard about what you really want on the page.

You may send me blocks of text that I will put directly on the page,
Please include only .txt format information written in a "notepad" type program - this will prevent viruses from spreading. This text should include something about what your Egyptan's environment might look like, a character description if you have a person to help raise the Egyptan or care for it, or just a walk-through for visitors to the page to read about your Egyptan (or what you hope to be your Egyptan).

You may send or point to background images that you like,
Please make sure they are *available* for use by people, and if you send them via email please make sure that I have approved sending me big files first!! I will make sure that your text is readable against your background images, but please remember that big, colorful and contrasting images make it VERY hard to apply text - there might wind up being a table for the text that blocks out portions of the background image.

You may send or point to small image files to fill out your idea,
Please make sure that they are legal for use on pages. Do not tell me to steal artwork from other people's sites - I will not do it. A couple .gif images or an animation can really flesh out a page - but I will only put 1 to 3 images of SMALL SIZE on a page for an Egyptan at the Refuge, and I will NOT put other pets on the page unless they too follow ALL their adoption rules.

All images, backgrounds, animations and other cyberpets MUST follow the rules stated on their own sites origins. IF they require a link back to their site, I *MUST* know where the image came from. I must be given the full information - if someone comes to me saying that your page has stolen images on it I will *never* allow you to use my site OR adopt another of *any* of my online pets. I do not tolerate image theft - period. I will cooperate entirely with anyone who complains.
