Healing Den Resident Non-Bonded Dragons

On the sands of the Healing Den, dragons do not die if they do not bond. That is a simple fact of life. Baeris has always taken it upon herself to save whatever she can out of any clutch, even if it means breaking open still-cold eggs, incubating hatchlings in artificial nests, or chasing off hostile creatures from the newborns.

However some dragons have been abandoned at an older age than hatchling. These dragons find their way back to the Healing Den on a regular basis, and have been given the highest care and attention to keep them happy and healthy.

While many of them are not "Happy" exactly, they are certainly well-maintained and are not in any danger of trying to suicide. Many of these dragons are healthy enough to participate in mating flights, mostly those at the Den itself, but also at certain other locales which accept riderless dragons. Since many "traditional" weyrs require riders, they will never be sent to a place which does this, without first checking with the Weyr's rules and leadership.

At any given time, however, this means that certain of these dragons might be laying eggs upon the sands at the Den's more private areas. There are several smaller sands - one taken up by the fire lizards and alis-gryphs, but others which are suitable for a small sized dragon to lay a few eggs. Most of the females will never lay more than a couple eggs at a time, but with time and care, they might be pursuaded to fly for bigger clutches with more aggressive and foreign males.

The males are often given to scouting and searching, though they often leave the actual work of searching a candidate to dragons with riders - they might find a locale with good looking potential and send one of the Searchers in.

If any foreign dragon finds themself abandoned, and their weyr is not normally geared to accept dragons of this type, the Healing Den will gladly take them in. From any weyr, caer, cathair, sanrix or nest...

Any of these dragons might have a personality which fits the needs of a particular search. Feel free to hunt about for ones which might find a candidate in need, or be hunting, bathing or doing whatever dragons do, for a story.

Let me make it clear, since it seems to have come up more than once recently - these dragons are NOT ADOPTABLE! They are vital to the Healing Den's population and they don't need to be adopted by someone. We have TONS of other dragons available elsewhere on the sands and at the Nooks registry!

Mizan	Gold-White	HD F3	Mizan is an ideal greeter and queen, perfectly comforatble with her role in the Den as a breeder. She and Mazeru have had several eggs hatch.
Patlak	Green-Gold-White	HD F3	Patlak was abandoned as a hatchling, and never truly bonded. She is a curious, slender dragoness with fine breeding potential. Small in size, but very queenly.
Amazonth	Camo Gold	HD Fools	This dragoness is fierce. She deeply resents being jilted for nothing - and as such she is often unapproachable, even more so than she had been before she bonded. Two abandonings have left this male-hater even more bitter about women. She will not attempt to rise.
Ismeranth	Gold	Blackstone -Glass-	Oldest of the abandoned dragons, from Blackstone's first clutch. She was a weyrling when abandoned, so she knows both the love of a bond, and the bitterness of being abandoned. She distrusts women who sing, now...
Vedoth	Pale Bronze	HD Xgen	Smallish for a bronze, around 40 feet long (and all tail!) this dragon will be one of the defenders of land, hunters and bolder types at the Den. He will want to fly in mating frenzies if given the chance.
Makonek	Bronze	Alabaster -b-	A stunning bronze, long of neck and tail, sharp and sleek. Makonek would still love to fly in matings, though he will never trust humans near his clutches eggs.
Hangiventh	Copper-Bronze	Alabaster -b-	This Blackstone-type is both fierce and forgiving. He enjoys the company of humans but prefers being alone to being rejected in a group.
Vask	Copper	HD Xgen	This huge 50' long half-Glenn dragon has a strong ability to manipulate weather, creating clouds and rain, wind and heat inside. He senses danger for the Den, and is a proud defender of the place.
Kisero	Brown	HD Xgen	At around 36 feet long, this dragon has chosen to stick with the sands, giving attention and perhaps feeding the attendant mothers who nest at the Healing Den. He is utterly devoted to the idea that all eggs belong to every dragon. Kisero has bonded to a Ryslen 2002 Flurry dragon!
Booyath	Brown	HD Fools	Booyath is a troublemaker. He knows about bombs, gang warfare, and tends to steal art supplies and 'tag' areas of the Den. He is totally uninterested in anything related to work.
Sploxioth	Ash Brown	HD Lost	How anyone could deny this loud dragon is beyond logic. He was an 11th egg hidden in a 10 egg clutch - and yet his bond still vanished when he was young. He is packed with energy, but it is a wary energy now, and he would rather hang out with more dangerous dragons like Booyath than nice ones.
Mazeru	Brown-Blue	HD F3	No one ever bonded this lovely offspring of Dulath, but he is proud to represent the Healing Den anyway. He speaks clearly, and loves to take potential bonds to the Sands. He is the greeter that everyone meets upon their first arrival to the Healing Den, and often is their way off the asteroid as well. He is extremely talented wandering the ins and outs of the Den
Braenyth	Blue	HD N3	A dark blue and strong flying dragon, whose bond vanished sometime after he was a hatchling. Brae carries himself with some dignity, but is less apt to meet with bonded dragons, more likely hanging out alone looking moody. Braenyth has paired with a Flurry dragon! He and his bond are now Nexus curriers.
Myrrhath	Blue	Alabaster	A sturdy Alabaster dragon, but left as a hatchling by his bond. He dislikes females, as his bond was a young woman. He loved her dearly but she never came back for him. He is quite lonely, but will not admit it.
Ziggith	Blue	Blackstone -Glass-	One of twin blues, hatched at Blackstone's sands long ago. They both were abandoned late in life, and came to the Healing Den as adults who have lost their riders somewhere in the Nexus. Equal in his pairing with his brother and twin, Zaggith is somewhat annoyed at their late riders' vanishing acts, they don't know and don't care where the humans are. They both take the time to patrol the entire Healing Den, keeping its halls free of unwanted company. Ziggith and Zaggith are heading off to the Dragon Haven, to see about getting a partner for their patrols.

Pierth	Blue	HD Fools	After being abandoned twice, this heavily-pierced dragon broods in the back rooms of the Den. However, he's always interested in shiny additions to his jangly wings, and will even accept gifts from humans or visitors. He's rather ... loud.
Sonyth	Blue	HD Fools	Sonyth spends all his time playing his video games. It's very unlikely that he even cares that someone abandoned him since paying attention to a bond would require him to stop playing.
Keik	Blue Marked	HD F3	A pale colored dragon with a strong curious streak. He is well adjusted to life without a bond, but he does have vaguely haunted moods, and doesn't like it when someone comments about his solo status.
Durmak	Dark Blue	HD Xgen	Durmak is a natural "lawgiver" type, and looks forward to settling disputes on the sands or in the air. He is good sized for a blue, at around 32 feet.
Varanot	Midsummer Night, female	Gift, Moire	This fantastic and large Moire dragoness rules her roost - which is to say wherever she goes is hers! She often flies at night, and leaves the Den on trips to moonlit places. She is a good guide in the Nexus for that reason, and can navigate very well by star charts.
Tengerk	Black Blue	HD F3	Dark and dramatic, perhaps a little too strong for his bond. He's always trying to out-do other dragons, and even other humans, especially when it comes to fishing or swimming.
Prrljati	Blue Spotted	HD Xgen	Probably to stick on with the travelers or search dragons, because of his innate knowledge of the Nexus and 'between spaces' around the Den. He is around 27 feet long.
Xeckth	BlueWhite	Flurry 2002	Along with his bond Lielth, he hunts for the sands-bound queens when there are eggs on the sands.
Isilath	Irridescent Silverblue pink m	Flurry 2002	Bonded to Khauduk, this beautiful male enjoys a greeter's status at the doors to the Healing Den.
Varvikas	Cloud Blue Marked, male	Bday Gift, Dragon Soul	Though Varvikas doesn't have front legs, he's quite happy - actually rather smug. He is fully in charge of celebrations and tends to remember everyone's significant days. He and Ribbon are a great match.
Maarvarin	Quake Drake, female	Bday Gift, Silver Midnight	A fantastic mix of Lighting, Spirit, Ice and Crystal, she is full of surprises. Though she appears calm, she can erupt into a series of fast, dangerous attacks if need be. She is not moody, merely quick and throrough.
Hinnith	Black-Silver Blue	HD F3	This wise, careful dark dragon rests over the hatching sands, watching the proceedings of any hatching. However he is also there while eggs harden, or when the sand needs to be cleaned. He rarely speaks, but he is gifted with a voice in addition to his mental abilities. Hinnith refuses to speak about bonding, himself.
Trillibeth	Green	HD N3	Wary and angry, this pale green dislikes contact with bonded dragons. Instead she remains with the brat pack of Booyath and Pierth.
Cayeith	Clouded Green	Flurry 2002	With Elarcoth, her bond, she and he guard the Flitter egg room
Dyonath	GreenSilver	Flurry 2002	Currier with Braeynth her bond, Nexus traveler.
Hakkath	White Green White	HD F3	Not only does Hakkath feel cheated, she feels used. Never approach this dragon without good reason, as she has stormed in and out of the Den with blood in her eye and even some on her claws...
Lielth	Green	Alabaster	A huge, sweet dragoness abandoned as a hatchling. She is always hopeful that her bond will come back to her, but is realistic enough to know that day will never come. Instead, she helps on the sands. Lielth has found a bond at Ryslen's 2002 Flurry!
Douopiwyth	Lightning Zappy /Starry Green 2 headed	Glitz Dragonwillow Sponsor 2004	This shiny example of frenzy-flight pairing is a bit stand-offish. She would rather you keep your distance as she's got her own other head as company. Her wings are strong, she'll probably wind up in a mating flight some day, but for now she's concentrating on where to put her den - closer to the hydra? Or up by the exits?
Jasjacesadimet	Partial Glitz Holographic Green	Glitz Dragonwillow Sponsor 2004	With a coloration to live up to, this girl likes to flash her wings at everyone, and makes an excellent addition to the greeter's crew at the front entrance. She does not like lurking around in shadows, as that doesn't bring out any of her finest colors.
Hatarith	Green	Blackstone -Glass-	From Blackstone's first clutch, this green is timid and shares her space with her clutch sister Colaaith. They do everything together. Though shy, she led her sister through the Nexus after they 'betweened' at their abandonment.
Colaaith	Green	Blackstone -Glass-	Hatarith's clutch sister, more dominant and sure of herself. Neither of these greens truly experienced the bond, they were abandoned at hatching, and therefore are some of the first to bond other dragons.
Dopeth	Green	HD Fools	This laid back tie-dye green will really not care who comes around. If they enjoy her little garden, so much the better. She did love her bond - who didn't quite love her back.
Angsth	Black Green	HD Fools	Brooding day after day in her dark and smoky rooms, Angsth has begun writing poetry. She and Pierth may spawn. She misses her brother/pal Goth tremendously.
Elarcoth	Black Rainbow, Male	Bday Gift, Opal Moon	As pleased as punch to be among the Healing Den dragons. Though not endlessly happy he's got a lot of energy and likes to hear stories about the other inhabitants. He plans on making his own someday. Elarcoth is happy to announce that he's found a wonderful bond from Ryslen! Together they guard the flit egg room.
Ribbon	Black Marked, female	Bday Gift, Brierfox	A lovely aquatic black with celebratory markings all over her body. She usually hangs at the water den, and her speedy chases always make the other residents enjoy their visits.
Tork	Silver, female	Alabaster -b-	Abandoned from the sands, but always rather happy and a delight to sit and talk with. She is a small dragoness, but typical of a more Blackstone shape.
Nakamak	Cream, male	HD F3	This lispy whispy male cream is distinctly feminine in his pursuit of attention. He deeply resents his rider for flaking out on him. He is unlikely to try finding a mate unless it's a truly amazing and different flight...
Gliolith	Bubblegum Pink	Flurry 2002	Paired with Her Handsome Brown Kisero, she helps on the sands but gets a bit annoyed if anyone comes near him.
Padak	Silver-Purple, male	HD F3	Catlike and still quite mischevious even after his bond left him on the sands, he will probably enjoy mating flights if he ever stops pestering other folks. A prankster in the fullest sense.
Heliozmaj	Purple Duowing, male	Gift, Ryslen	This amazing duowing suddenly arrived without much warning, and took it upon himself to 'represent' the Icarian and other duo wings of the Healing Den. There are not that many and they certainly aren't arguing with him... Even though his parents don't seem to be Icarian (Green Kalkt and Violet Adherath).
Lygaleiryth	Rainbow Irridescent, male	Glitz Sponsor 2004	Though he didn't say much at his hatching, this boldly colored half-Rauggie can't seem to shut up now. See how big and bright his wings are? And how his tail can act as a rudder? He is great at teaching the newly fledged dragonets to fly.
Nimbus	Rainbow, male	Gift, HK Sherra	A beautiful rainbow dragon, Nimbus is rather eager, headstrong and somewhat stubborn. It is because of this that he's well liked in the Den, especially by the sands workers. He will stand up for himself, but also likes being given some direction as he's still new at the Den.
Khauduk	Red White, female	HD F3	A demanding and aggressive marked-hide dragon, powerful yet fairly small as far as dragons go. She often helps the builders and construction workers. Khauduk is surprised as anyone to find that she's bonded at Ryslen 2002 Flurry!
Joakarat	Green Black Hydra	HD Halloween	Sired by Black Opal Death from the 3rd Frenzy, and ignored by the persons who would have bonded her, Joakarat has slunk around to other places for breeding purposes. She has 4 heads and no wings. She frightens everyone.
Yasashii	Red Black Hydra	HD Halloween	Though half-hydra with 5 heads, he has wings and is a strong flier. He is small, angry, and very very dangerous. His ruby gemstone gives him a poor temper - he can barely control himself and there have been deaths in the lowest parts of the Den because of him. He actively hunts within the walls, and has participated in the Souls Frenzy with his 4 headed sibling.
Handsel	Violet/Green male, Dodrian	Tris'hathian Gift	Handsel is a lovely Dodrian, a gift from Mystic at the Warren. He is shy, but will stand his ground in his quarters. He's often found sneaking around trying to surprise people, then scampering away. While he looks serious, he's more just 'interested'.
Pesht	Gledog, male	Gift, K'trenal	Pesht is a long, slender typical Gledog, found fluttering about his quarters and testing out the air currents above the flight fields. He is a very fast flier, though can't teleport. He likes to compete with the bigger flitters or fly with them, though he's much bigger.
Minty	Green Tribitti, female	Gift	A wonderful sort of creature from the Electric Kiwi lands, the Tribitti is just the most adorable addition to the Den. She has a calming effect on everyone, even Baeris, and Dulath has even gotten used to the little fluttering creature. Minty is just about 8" tall!
Raytrace	Blue Haken, Male	Gift	Hanging out at the Water Hole, this lovely boy is quite adept at flying in and out of the water. Racing with him is a challenge. When the Swim is complete, he will help guard the eggs.
Savannah	Brown/Golden Rukel, male	Sort of Gift	This beautiful little flitter hangs out with Baeris and Striker more often than not. He was brought to the Healing Den by Engell, who got a white one (what a surprise). Savannah often sits proudly on Baeris' desk playing with the Vaio.

Huvos	Cool toned Lian	Gift/2k3	The other part of a lovely pair! Visit them in the Den's Flitter Containment Unit!

Nocturneth	Midnight Starry Blue	Gift/2k3 from Calyeni	This handsome male is paired up with Diurnath.
Diurnath	Sunlight Gold	Gift/2k3 from Cy	Along with Nocturneth, she guards new eggs and tends young hatchlings.
Umith	Teal Sea (?)	Gift/2k3 from Enzan Shi	Taken care of by Nocturneth and Diurnath, destined to be a lovely addition to the sands! She and her 'parent's are at the Gift Frenzy!
Violetta	Rukel, Female	Gift/2k3	Violetta was sent to a certain "Convict Van" on a trip by the many Sangers of the Healing Den. She is going to be adored by many, in such an odd context of a prison...
Spirit Touch	Fairy Dragon? Female	Gift/2k3 from Lady Drakiera	This lovely dragonet has a beautiful voice and brings messages from afar to Baeris. She also seems to spread cheer wherever she goes.
A view of why Shy is not here...	Heh.	Gift Image from Maramia	This one is either self explanatory or completely confusing. If you know who Shy is, and you know who Kalkin is, and one assumes you then know that's Sixth there... This is why Baeris won't allow Shy on the sands at the Den any more. Kalkin puts up with this... Why?
Gembira	Asian Water Dragon	Ring of Fire	This beautiful male is destined to be a part of Shezumi's bloodline, at Kazoku no Ryu. His name means cheerful - hopefully he'll provide a bit of cheer in the dangerous Kazoku!
Jiman	Blue Green Male	Gift/2k3 from TrisHath	Jiman is a dramatic and over-proud male, his forceful personality seems to be overcompensating for his oft-confused coloration. He appears to want to become a liason to other worlds sands, and since he's rather annoying about it, not even Baeris is going to stop him. He is participating in the Gift Frenzy!
Fyrrieldur	Holiday Drak Male	Santa 2k3 from Talis	Fyrrieldur (whose name means first fire) is a stunning holiday drak. He appreciates the bangles and doodads that might be given as gifts during holiday seasons, and naturally he's good at finding the right gift for someone else. Just ask! Fyrrieldur is going to visit Lantessama Isle, having heard there's a special holiday clutch there! Fyrrieldur has bonded to Holiday Green and White Stylla! Collins has come with him and is bonded to Green and White Noroth!
Malcelebriso	Flurry Ore Male Drak	Ryslen Flurry 2003	This dramatic ore drak has chosen to be bondless at the Healing Den for a while. He may yet pair up with someone or some dragon or drak, but so far he seems to be doing fine without one. Malce' is interested in the complicated lives of those in the Den, and seems intent on watching everything he can get his eyes onto. Including the webcams in the dragon dorms... Shalesanri	Flurry Eastern Green	Ryslen Flurry 2003 (altered)	A wingless "Eastern" dragon who is remaining at the Healing Den for the time being, while she ponders heading off with Gembira to Kazoku. She is full of life and energy, she seems to be quite the match for the elder Gembira.
(unnamed Sebian)	Holiday Sebian Male	Winter Gather 2004	This gigantic (t-rex sized!) red and green holiday Sebian is the prize catch for Dulath during the Winter. How this massive dragon could even exist is beyond the ken of most sane folks. But - they do. There he is.
(unnamed VC)	Holiday Female	Winter Gather 2004	A more demure red and green, marked with a snowflake to commemorate her existence, she has taken it upon herself to be a herald to worlds where the Healing Den will roost. She flies ahead, checking out the landscape. If it looks promising, upon her return, the Den steers toward that location. She heads back to the target, and if there are any local dragons she alerts them to the presence of the new dragonry.
