You've chosen to head toward the Fire elemental sector! You never know what might pop up here - only be prepared, because this area of the Preserve is dangerous, and not just because there are wild Egyptan running around!

This part of the desert is if anything even warmer than where you were before. Heat haze wavers over the surface of the sand.

"Gosh it's hot here..." You wipe sweat from your forehead, and look for a shady place. Fortunately there seems to be just a small patch of darkness out there. You head for it...

 

 

 

Whew... It's so hot...

 

 

 

Only to discover that it wasn't really shade - it was a mirage! You're about to faint from heat exhaustion when you think you've spotted another shady point.

Several minutes later, when you realize you've fainted, you jolt upright and then bump your head on a dirt ceiling.

"Careful, visitor... careful." Says a warm voice. "You've come a long way in the heat. Didn't you bring any water with you?"

Rubbing your head, you grunt. "I guess not. I should have brought a hat, too..." You realize that the voice belongs to a brilliant red Egyptan! She blinks and tilts her head, feathers bobbing in the breeze coming in from the bright entrance to the dirt burrow.

"You're lucky, then. I have a little water, if you squeeze that plant there," she indicates a little sponge-like root near your head, "you will get your drink." The water is flavored with the plant fibers, but it is cool and you drink as much as you can.

The Egyptan looks at you, bemused, but then her ears turn flat and she stomps out of the burrow. Outside you hear yipping and barking, typical sounds of Egyptis. She sure has mood swings, this Egyptan!

Several other red-colored Egyptans race through the burrow's entrance, and line up next to the female. "These are my young. If you think you could handle one of them, by all means, choose one."

"I - um, I ... okay, but let me think about it first. What kinds of things will I need to do for the cub?"

The Egyptan snorts and her cubs fidget. "It should be obvious, visitor..."

 

Fire tribals like hot places, like deserts, and they have rather hot tempers. They like hot animations and flame-y backgrounds.

If you cannot join for some reason, you must email Viridia with your information so she can arrange something else. Otherwise, Viridia will never know where the cubs have gone!

"Not all Fire elemental tribes are red, however," the female adds when you're about to leave. "There are several other associates of our tribe, if you follow the burrow lines in the dunes, you'll be able to visit them. There is water in the burrows, so don't wander too far away from them.
