After visiting the Fire Egyptan family, you head off across a dune. You notice that there are burrows scattered around, so you keep close to them. You wouldn't want to faint out here in the desert without knowing if another Egyptan would come to help you!

It doesn't take long before the heat is starting to get to you again. The sun beating down on your skin makes you think you'll be getting a sunburn.

A breeze blows across your face, and you turn to see an Egyptan flying - such a sight! He drops to the ground and paces before you, but parts of him seem to be blended in with the dunes, the very heat haze that makes your vision confused seems to be mirrored on the Egyptan's fur!

"Visitors are rare here." He says, "you are getting burnt. Come inside for a bit. Not too long. I like it in the sun where I can bask."

"I can't believe how a creature with fur can like being out in this heat at all!" You exclaim, crawling into the burrow.

"Our fur keeps us both cool and dry when it's hot, and warm and comfortable when it is cold. I would never live in a cold climate, I do not like chills." The Egyptan sits down, spreading his wings so you can see the amazing pattern on his feathers.

"I am called a Heat Haze Egyptan. We are rare but starting to flourish!" He seems quite proud of this, but he is still a bit stand-offish.

Finally you ask him what is wrong.

"Well, we do need someone to care for our cubs. There are many in this litter, so taking care of all of them is difficult for my mate and I."

"Wow... How would I take care of one?"

He shows you to the nook underground where three Heat Haze cubs rest, sleeping. They have the distinct pattern of swirling sand-color as their sire.

Heat Haze Egyptans should be placed on a desert or hot-road type page. They don't like many visitors or crowds, so they should not have too many other pets with them.

If you want to adopt this cub, please right-click and save to your own hard drive. Do not link directly to any image.

If you wish to get the Teen and Adult stages of this Egyptan, please join the Yahoo Group and place your completed pet's page url in the Bookmarks section. If you cannot join for some reason, you must email Viridia with your information and she will arrange something. Otherwise, Viridia will never know where the cubs have gone!

"Heat Haze Egyptans take on aspects of their surroundings, so if you put them on a dark page, parts will be dark. If they are on a bright page, they will have bright elements. Take good care of this cub!"
